Older Technical Publications

1985 & 1986

As a Principal Software Engineer, Ed was the chief architect of Digital Equipment Corporation's first knowledge-based CAD system. He wrote technical articles on this pioneering work that were published in the IEEE Computer Society journals of both Artificial Intelligence and Design Automation. This application of first-generation Artificial Intelligence software was developed for machine learning to design computers.
However, Ed has never utilized current-day AI to write any of the prose in his novels or short stories.  Ed says, "AI couldn't develop the intricate plots or write the emotional dialogue of his interesting characters."

      Unpublished Novels

Ed wrote his first two suspense novels in 1992 and 1994, long before the Internet existed and Amazon self-publishing was a possibility. It was easier to win the lottery than to land a publishing agent then. Ed put novels aside to focus on writing business plans for tech startups, mergers, and acquisitions. He began writing novels and short stories full-time after retiring to Florida. Someday, he may dust one of these manuscripts off, revise it, and publish it.
